cats on earth majestic music tracks: 01. california mecca 02. ruffians 03. junot's beat 04. trubble 05. majestic music 06. the whole story 07. stumps this is a little online ep i made on my laptop while traveling random places in california, but for the most part it was done in los angeles, santa cruz, and oakland. these tracks are not idm. they pretty much pick up where "mama told me to pimp hard..." and "throw aways" left off. sort of mellow hip-hoppy tracks with a bit of synth work and sample chopping. that's it. nothing special. i wanted to make a group of tracks that were simple/minimal, but still had substance. the idea is that you will listen to them and not really like them at first, but then in a year or so, you will still be listening to them and finally come to the decision that you really do like them after all. all my favorite albums have been that way, so i tried to purposefully recreate that experience with my own tracks. so far, it's worked for me. there are certain people who deserve thanks for their help with these tracks. first off, my mom for helping me get the computer i made them on, ellen, junot, the ebb, ekt/watmm, nate because i stole one of his samples in track three, zack and ahab for hooking me up with some of the programs i used, pre and his techy homies for hosting the tracks, and liz for showing me the ways of the wacom tablet which resulted in the artwork for this ep. thanks everybody.
